Anti-termite treatment is a specialist job: Use only specialized agencies for carrying out anti-termite treatment preferably a member of Indian Pest Control Association. 4. General Requirements Anti-Termite Treatment 5. Site Preparation : Remove all organic matter, construction debris, rubbish etc. Water logged foundations shall be treated after drying when the soil is absorbent. For low penetration and slopping sites, surface to be scarified 75mm depth. Complete all cutting, excavation, leveling & grading before starting treatment . 5. Site Preparation Anti-Termite Treatment 6. Materials: Chloropyriphos 20% EC bearing ISI certification . Dilute 1 part of Chloropyriphos 20% EC with 19 part of water to get 1% emulsion. Indian pest control association approved chemical shall be used. Contractor shall submit purchase vouchers to EIC for verification. 6. Materials Anti-Termite Treatment 7. Mode of Application and Rate of Application: 7. Mode of Application and Rate of Application Chemical emulsion should be applied uniformly by sprayers. Specified rates should be applied at each stages of treatment. Pressure pumps and sprayers of adequate capacity shall be used for proper penetration of chemical. Anti-Termite Treatment 8. Treatment for Masonry Foundations & Basement : 8. Treatment for Masonry Foundations & Basement Foundations shall be completely enveloped with chemical barrier. Treatment shall be from sub structure to plinth surface Apply emulsion @ 5 Ltrs/ Sqm for normal load bearing structures Vertical surfaces @ 7.50 Ltrs/Sqm. Legend A - Bottom and sides of trench B - Backfill in immediate contact with foundation wall C - Junction of wall and floor D- External perimeter of building Anti-Termite Treatment 7.50 Ltrs/Sqm 5 Ltrs/Sqm Min 300 MM 9. Treatment for RCC Foundations & Basement: 9. Treatment for RCC Foundations & Basement Treatment shall start at a depth of 500 mm below the ground level/FML. Apply emulsion for vertical surfaces @ 7.50 Ltrs/Sqm. Legend A - Min 500 mm below ground level/FML B - Plinth Filling D- FML to Grade Beam top E - FFL to Plinth beam top NGL - Natural Ground Level FML - Formation Level 500 mm below NGL/FML 7.50 Ltrs/Sqm Anti-Termite Treatment 10. Top Surface of Plinth Filling: 10. Top Surface of Plinth Filling Consolidated plinth surface shall be treated. Treatment shall be @ 5 Ltrs/Sqm before sub-base is laid. If consolidated soil doesn't allow the emulsion to seep through, Make holes using 12mm dia rod @ 150 mm c/c in both directions. Depth of hole shall be 50mm to 75 mm. Pour chemical emulsion into holes and allow to saturate. Anti-Termite Treatment 5 Ltrs/Sqm Holes @ 150 mm c/c 11. Junction of the Wall and Floors: 11. Junction of the Wall and Floors Anti-Termite Treatment Continuity of vertical chemical barrier on inner wall surface from ground level to finished floor level is required. Treatment shall be carried out by Placing a channel of 30x30 mm at all junctions of wall and columns with floor before sub grade is laid. Make holes using 12 mm dia [email protected] 150mm c/c and breakup the earth up to ground level. Pour chemical emulsion into the holes @ 7.5 Lit/ Sqm . Tamp back the soil into the channel and consolidate the earth. 12. External Perimeter of Building: 12. External Perimeter of Building The external perimeter of the building shall be treated. The external perimeter of the building shall be roded at 150 mm c/c on both ways to make holes. Minimum depth of hole shall be 300 mm. Pour the chemical emulsion in to the hole @ 7.5 Ltr / Sqm of vertical surface. Tamp back the soil after treatment & consolidate. If earth outside the building requires grading, treatment shall be done after completion of grading. Anti-Termite Treatment External Perimeter Min 300 mm @ 7.5 Ltrs / Sqm 13. Soil Surrounding Pipes and Conduits: 13. Soil Surrounding Pipes and Conduits Service pipes entering the foundation/building shall be treated. Treatment shall be carried out at a distance of 300 mm away from pipe in both Side. Depth of treatment shall be 75 mm below the pipe. At each entry points treatment shall be carried for a distance of min 1 mtr away from building/ foundation entry point. Anti-Termite Treatment 300 mm away from the pipe 300 mm 75 mm below the pipe 1 mtr away from each entry points 14. Expansion Joints: 14.
