Recent concerns over the environment, increasing fuel prices and scarcity of petroleum product supply has promoted the interest on development of the alternative sources for petroleum fuels. At present, biodiesel is commercially produced from the refined edible vegetable oils such as sunflower oil, palm oil and soybean oil, etc. Literature survey: Literature survey Sl. To conduct the performance and emission test with diesel and biodiesel blends in various proportions with diethyl ether fumigation. To predict the heat release rate based on the first law of thermodynamics. Justification: Justification The unrefined rubber seed oil is chosen as a potential non-edible vegetable oil for the production of biodiesel. The importance properties of biodiesel produces from rubber seed oil are quite close to that of diesel. Hence the methyl esters of rubber seed oil can be a performance improving additive in compression ignition engine. Waste plastic disposal oil, when mixed with heavy oils reduces the viscosity significantly and improves the engine performance. Alternative fuels used: Alternative fuels used 1 . Rubber Seed oil (extracted from the seeds of rubber trees). Oil extraction is concentrated at Virudhunagar in Tamil Nadu. The current price of rubber seed oil was Rs.42,000 a tonne. 2. Plastic oil (extracted from the waste plastic bottle) : A plastic material is any of a wide range of synthetic or semi-synthetic organic solids that are moldable. Plastics are typically organic polymers of high molecular mass, but they often contain other substances. They are usually synthetic, most commonly derived from petrochemicals, but many are partially natural.
