PowerPoint Presentation: Baby Skin Care Tips Everybody has a dream of having the skin of a baby mainly because a baby’s skin is soft and blemish free. What we don’t factor in is that maintaining a baby’s skin is not as easy as one may imagine. It in fact requires a lot of hard work and dedication. A baby’s skin is extremely soft and sensitive and may have an allergic response to most of the commercially available preparations. This is what a typical baby skin care regime should comprise:  The Right Body Wash. The soap used on babies should not be the same as used by adults. Most of the commercially available soaps have high amount of paraben that can cause allergic response when used on the baby’s skin. In fact, you should be careful about the soap you pick for your baby since some of the so-called baby soaps end up causing dryness. Meet your dermatologist and seek advice on the best medicated soap that can be used for your tiny one.  A Good Moisturizer. Baby skin is extremely sensitive to change of weather and can end up being dry and damaged. Hence, use of moisturizer after bath is a must to prevent dryness of the skin. Moisturizer again is different for the baby skin type. It should be soft and long acting to prevent frequent application.  Change of Diaper. Frequent and prolonged use of diaper can lead to diaper rash. This may happen due to the soiling of the diaper, which may not be removed or changed immediately. Use of soothing creams and an anti-fungal powder prior to use of diaper can go a long way in preventing your child from suffering from diaper rash.  Avoid Packing Your Baby in Excessive Clothing. In winters, you do not have a choice and would want to keep your baby wrapped in comfortable and warm clothing. However, during the summer and rainy season, it is not advisable to keep the baby packed because excessive use of clothing may cause sweating and its retention that can lead to prickly heat / summer rash.  Mild Talcum Powder. Use of a soothing talcum powder soon after bath and before clothing your baby can prevent prickly heat. PowerPoint Presentation:  Apply Calamine Lotion. Use of calamine lotion after bathing your baby and before clothing it, not only prevents prickly heat but also soothes your baby’s skin. A good baby skin care regimen is extremely simple to follow and if ignored, can cause your baby unnecessary problems.
