Separate Customer Team from Developer Team :  Separate Customer Team from Developer Team Use this scenario when you don't want to give your customers access to your development process or team or when you have several customers on the same project and they shouldn't see each other or when you don't want your development team to interact with customers. Anonymous access:  Anonymous access Use this scenario when you expect to receive bug reports from large amount of anonymous people. Common Project Development:  Common Project Development This scenario is ideal when two or more companies work together on a common project but they also have private projects related to this development. Both companies are buying separate licenses (Online PRO Pack is required at least for one of them in order to initiate sharing). Common projects may be shared between companies or between customer and companies. One project can be shared between many accounts. Customizable workflow:  Customizable workflow You may setup different types of workflow. All the bugs go through Project Manager, so the system will always select him to assign bugs. Manager will be able to reassign to anybody who has "Allow resolving" option selected. Allowing ticket initiator to choose “Assign To” person among the people with "Allow resolving records?" option checked in “Roles”. Click "My Stuff" to see all the records assigned to you for the project selected at the top of the screen. To remember your current filter settings (so you can restore them easily later), choose a short and descriptive name (for example, "easy ones") and use the "Save" button. Click on the "List" menu item to view all the records matching your last filter. Listing Bugs . :  Listing Bugs . List" is showing the same result as from the last "Filter". That can be adjusted using the "Filter" Menu. If there is no Filter chosen, then "List" will show "All open bugs (show first 100)". Specify additional parameters and click “next” If you need to add a few custom fields, you just need to write a simple HTML script. You may add as many fields as you need, and they will appear in details section under their names. Custom form may be very different from the default and may be customized any way you’d like. 5. Modify system-generated HTML code if necessary (we are always glad to help). 7. You may customize IIS settings and other system settings for this custom form to insure required level of security from the client site. Select everything (including or excluding Details, as you wish) 4. Select status “All” – to return bugs with all statuses. 5. Put “0” in “Show first” field to get all records 6. Generate Web Query and copy web-query to clipboard (Ctrl+C) 7. Open Excell-2000 or later. 8. Paste web-query to the File->Open prompt into the file name string and click "Open" Reports:  Reports BUGtrack is using Web-services to produce advanced reports. eMail Interface:  eMail Interface Email Interface allows for creating and updating records by sending regular email. It really converts BUGtrack into the powerful email-tracking processor. The system identifies records by the unique number embedded into email subject or just creates a new one if the subject is new. Email may also contain an attachment. Attachment will be integrated with an appropriate record. BUGtrack system is keeping entire discussion thread together in one place, preserving original formatting, graphics and fonts. This feature may be very useful to communicate with external team members or customers without even giving them access to BUGtrack. Email interface may be also used by a customer support team for tracking customers’ requests. Email Interface may be also used for beta-testing, similar to a Custom form for Beta-testing. Ability to accept the original email HTML graphic format makes Email Interface really effective and spectacular. Email may also contain an attachment. Attachment will be integrated with an appropriate record. Source Control Integration:  Source Control Integration BUGtrack Professional Edition can be integrated with various source control systems, such as: CVS and MS Visual Source Safe. This allows creating a two-way link: bug's details will contain the list of check-ins, associated with the bug - from one hand check-in will point to the bug it supposed to fix - from another hand. Integration process consists from two main parts: Server-side and Client-side. Server-side: the source control system needs to be configured to notify BUGtrack whenever check-in related to a particular bug occurs. This is accomplished by installing a "trigger" script. The user will add the comment including number of the bug that is going to be fixed. The trigger will POST check-in data (bug number, file names where changes occurred, old and new version numbers) to BUGtrack. As a result, corresponding bug will contain a list of associated file changes. Client-side: Records with associated check-ins will contain additional 'Check-ins' section on the record view page. Each file is represented by URL with custom protocol (depends on source control system used) which contains file name and version and can be used to visualize changes.
