Rivers: R ivers The Rio Loa River is the longest river in Chile, with a length of 440 kilometres. The Loa river starts at the mountain slopes of the Andes, it travels south, west and then the river goes through a 500 meter deep canyon through the Chilean Coastal Range. It then empties out at the Pacific Ocean. The water is not used for drinking or many other purposes because it is very polluted from mining. Sometimes people use it in towns to farm shrimp. Rio Loa Chile Start Easter Island : Easter Island Easter Island is a small piece of land off the west coast of Chile. The Easter Island holds one of the greatest wonders of the world – The M oais . The M oais are huge human statues that are carved from a single rock. They are known to stand over 13 – 14 feet and they can easily weigh nearly a hundred tons . Moais were built where they are standing now. Some archaeologists believe that they have been moved from the mountains to near the shores of the island. Just like Stonehenge, there are theories of how the statues got where they are but they are not really believable because most of them include intervention of aliens. Beautiful Chile! : Beautiful Chile! PowerPoint Presentation: I have enjoyed learning all about Chile and supporting the team in the World Cup 2014. To complete my project, I found out information about Chile on the internet and also used leaflets from the British Chilean Embassy, London. I was lucky enough to have the o pportunity to buy some real Chilean Peso, which I purchased from Ebay . I have learnt a lot about the country and think it would be an interesting place to visit.
