First Acting, Sports, Animals Help people in need from second languages to Alzheimer’s patients. A sporty group that had a common interest in travel. Second Cooking, Sewing, Fitness Helping in a children’s hospital, Animal Rescue A caring group that wants to help the animals. Third Exercise, Photography, Art, Culinary Arts Help people in need from feeding the hungry, terminally ill, and mentoring. Animal rescue They all paint or travel in their spare time. Fourth Dance, Sports, Outreach Help people that are hungry, human trafficking and adult literacy. This group is family oriented and likes to eat in their spare time! Fifth Cycling, Computers, German The guys would take up political action and cycling safety. This group is all about outdoor adventure. EIP/Specials Art, Dance, Music Diabetes Awareness, Animal Control, Animal Rescue, Community Theater They like to travel and read in their spare time. Apprentices Piano, Sewing, Dance, Tennis Helping others by raising money or visiting the sick. Pet rescue Most would travel if there were not limitations. Naming Your Cluster: Naming Your Cluster Avoid using the word “class” or “club” when naming your cluster Try : ● Guild ● Society ● Organization ● Institute ● Task Force ● A Business Name You want students to know that enrichment clusters are not like traditional classroom experiences. The cluster name can have a lot of impact on the student’s perceptions. Writing Your Cluster Description: Writing Your Cluster Description You shouldn’t specify exactly what students will do. Can provide ideas of roles students may take on Avoid using “learn, class, and club” Use verbs that convey action specifically associated to your topic. Pose questions about potential student interest and involvement Do you like…? Have you ever wondered why…? Do you have an interest in…? ACTIVITY : ACTIVITY The Good, The Bad, and… Read your handout.
