It can’t be eaten by other animals but it can eat almost any insects. Interesting Facts:  Interesting Facts Their bright color serves as a warning to other animals that they are poisonous. Some native Indians used the poison for their weapons. The poison affects the nerves and muscles when it enters the blood stream. Some carry their tadpoles to pools to protect them from danger. I think the Anteater is one of the most interesting animals to learn about. Living Habits:  Living Habits Sometime it eats up to 30,000 insects in a single day. Predators are pumas and jaguars Habitat :  Habitat It can be found in Central America and part of S. America Most are found in tropical forests, grassland and highland where there are a lot of ants. Are found in the Forest Floor of the rainforest. Interesting Facts:  Interesting Facts Are solitary unless they going to mate. Have a HUGE appetite! Unlike other types of Xenops, it’s back is deep brown and unstreaked. The wing and tail feathers are mostly cinnamon-colored. That is some things I just learned about! It is the national bird of Belize. It is responsible for bringing in much of the tourism there (Belize, 2000; Greer, 1993). It’s beautiful coloring brighten the rainforest. Harpy Eagle:  Harpy Eagle By Keelin Gangwish Introduction:  Introduction The Harpy Eagle was an interesting bird to learn about. This bird is an endangered species and it’s scientific name is Harpy Harpja. It’s the largest of all eagles! The back of a Harpy Eagle is black, the underside is white and the collar is black. I think it would be scary to meet them in person. Animals Living Habits:  Animals Living Habits They are carnivores. They hunt in the day and sleep in the night. Living Habits :  Living Habits Sleeps up to 15 hours hangs up side down. have small molars (back teeth). get hunted by jaguars and eagles and people. Interesting Facts:  Interesting Facts Got its name from movement (means “slow”). Live 10 to 20 years. Goes to the bathroom once a week! Yuch!!! Green Iguanas:  Green Iguanas Anthony Barrett-Aviles Introduction:  Introduction The Green Iguana is one of the best animals in the rainforest to learn about. They change colors. They can look like sticks, leaves or bark. They have sharp claws. The Green Iguana is an amazing animal. Living Habits:  Living Habits Green Iguanas are primarily herbivores plant-eaters. They eat leaves, flowers, and fruit. They also eat insects, worms, and other small animals. Green Iguana are killed by some large bird of prey, foxes, rats, weasels, some snakes, and people. Their eggs are also eaten by many animals. Habitat:  Habitat Iguanas are found in many different habitats In North and South America, including, deserts, and the sea. Different iguanas look and act so differently. The color of some iguanas are vivid and bright. That is why I find the iguana so interesting. We think iguanas live only in deserts.
