Variety of wildlife and wildlife resources:  Variety of wildlife and wildlife resources 84 species of mammal; 365 species of birds; 49 species of reptiles; 7-8 thousand species of insects. In low lands the hot deserts submitted -the grey monitor lizard, a cobra, an arrow-snake, a beauty bustard, a spotty cat, a leopard, the fox, and etc. Variety of wildlife and wildlife resources:  Variety of wildlife and wildlife resources The fauna in tugai forest are submitted tugai deer, a cane cat, the jackal, Vipera lebetina, the golden pheasant, swans, a striped hyena, etc; The low mountain zone (500-1000 m) -a steppe turtle, steppe agama, a porcupine, a hare - tolai, a gopher, a fox, etc. The middle mountain zone (1000-2500 m)-a bear, the fox, the wolf, snow leopard, Siberian ibex, a mouflon, Capra falconeri, etc. Variety of wildlife and wildlife resources:  Variety of wildlife and wildlife resources The fauna of the Alpine zone are Himalaya Tetraogallos, a snow griffon-vulture, Siberian ibex, a snow leopard, etc. The fauna of a high-mountainous of the Pamirs differs greatly from the fauna of all mountain ranges of Central Asia. Here submitted a Tibetan Tetraogallos, Tibetan Syrrhaptes, Himalayan Mergus, an Indian goose, a red duck, brown-headed seagull, a caress, an ermine, Mustela altaica, a fox, a lynx, a wolf, a bear, a snow leopard, Siberian ibex , Marko Polo sheep. WILDLIFE LEGISLATION:  WILDLIFE LEGISLATION The Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “About protection and use of fauna” The Law on nature protection The Forestry Code THE MAIN PROBLEMS :  THE MAIN PROBLEMS Development of new and perfection of existing methods and ways of protection of rare and disappearing species of animals, Mitigations of anthropogenous pressing on all complex of the animal population of the republic Creation of the scientific-methodical center; Creation of new nature protection systems; Wide propagation among local population about value natural protected territories and their uniqueness; Preparation of the documentation on creation of new SPT; Development of new specifications on a mode of SPT; Inventory of flora and fauna in SPT; For improving this situation it is important to carry out a regular monitoring POLITICY OPTIONS:  POLITICY OPTIONS All every state specially prtected territories is financed on behalf of the state budget The state increases the area of specially protected territories The state since 1997 has been paying much attention to restoration of the preserve and to organization of new specially protected territories PROPOSED TOPICS TO BE CONSIDERED WITHIN FAO TECHNICAL COOPERATION PROGRAMME :  PROPOSED TOPICS TO BE CONSIDERED WITHIN FAO TECHNICAL COOPERATION PROGRAMME Development of National Strategy and Action Plan on animal world protection and their rational use Zoning of the territory of Tajik National Park Establishing of Shahristan reserve (juniper) Establishing of pistachio preserve in Panj district Allocation of buffer zone of reserves Improvement of legislation and regulation in the sphere of animal world and hunting Providing Technical assistance to specially protected territories Establishing of a center training and re-training of specialists PROPOSED TOPICS TO BE CONSIDERED WITHIN FAO TECHNICAL COOPERATION PROGRAMME :  PROPOSED TOPICS TO BE CONSIDERED WITHIN FAO TECHNICAL COOPERATION PROGRAMME Establishing of the nursery for Bukhara Deer Creation of the three nurseries for breeding and expansion of the three subspecies of Pheasant Initiation of international reserve (Tajikistan, Afghanistan, China and Pakistan) Territorial expansion of Dashtijum reserve by joining it with neighboring Dashtijum sanctuary.
