Web- Based GIS Mapping of our Network :  Web- Based GIS Mapping of our Network Slide2:  GIS is a computer based information system used to digitally represent and analyse the geographic features present on Earth’s Surface and the events that taking place on it. Geographical Information System GPS provides unequalled accuracy and flexibility of positioning for navigation, surveying and GIS data capture. Major application areas are GIS data collection, surveying and mapping. Global Positioning System Slide3:  GPS Device This machine sends and receives signals to and from the satelites to determine the latitude and longitude coordinates and even altitude of current position. Slide4:  PowerNet / PowerGIS developed by GECE This is Client Based application where in the geo reference data i.e longitude and latitude of our equipment such as Sub-Stations, DTRs, Poles etc will be captured by GPS Device and imported to Power GIS Software for viewing our network. Slide5:  Limitations of Client Based GIS Client to be installed in each and every PC. License Maintenance Cost. It is more expensive to install. Needs to be maintained by staff with high IT skills. Problem for Data Updation. Slide6:  Why Web – Based GIS Reduces License Costs. No Desktop Installations. All installations are silent behind the scenes over the Intranet. Easy access to data by any kind of user. Data Updation from Multiple Data Sources. Slide7:  Web – Based GIS Slide8:  Web – Based GIS Slide9:  Web – Based GIS Web GIS with Decision Support:  Web GIS with Decision Support Web User Request Web User Response Static Data Storage Web Services Data Gathering Data Formatting Data Processing Map Formatting Map Production Slide11:  Sample Geographical view of our Network Slide12:  Sample Geographical view of our Network Sub-Station Pole 1-Ph DTR on Pole Transformer Feeder 1 Feeder 2 Feeder 3 Slide13:  Details of Distribution Transformer Slide14:  Pole Code Location Slide15:  Pole Wise Information Slide16:  Pole Wise Information in Geographic Context Slide17:  Interlocking for Updating Network New Service Release By ensuring DTR Code and Pole Code to be entered on Test Report which can be automatically updated on GIS from CSC Database. Slide18:  Interlocking for Updating Network Sub-Stations, DTRs, Poles etc While taking Work Order from SAP the electrical equipments for which geo reference data has to be entered such as number of poles, DTRs etc., (as per sanctioned estimate) must be entered for all the works (Improvement, DCW, Turn Key, O&M etc) in SAP. When work is completed, the concerned A.E should take longitude and latitude of the erected equipment and should be submitted with Work Completion Report, then only the W.O. will be closed. The data will be entered in SAP which will be stored in GIS Database and automatically mapped on the GIS Network. Slide19:  Interlocking for Updating Network Technologies Used:  Technologies Used ASP.NET & VB.NET or JAVA ArcMap ArcGIS Server Maplex Oracle 10g Catalog Interface ArcSDE ArcIMS Slide21:  SCADA Integration with GIS The real time Information is not confined to SCADA users only. The real time information along with network information shall be available through GIS in Geographic Context. Help CBD or O&M Staff to identify the most probable location of feeder fault. Exact routes of Feeders in GIS will help to plan outages and restoration path. Slide22:  Network Representation in GIS & SCADA Slide24:  How Integrated GIS with SCADA Work Slide25:  Visualization – Area Affected due to an Outage Slide26:  AMR Integration with GIS Every one can have access to AMR data through GIS. AMR data is helpful to detect leaks in Distribution System, with GIS the same can be viewed with the land base, analyzed and can be used to plan and take necessary measure. Energy Auditing. To reduce Technical and Commercial losses. For Implementing DSM Measures…… Slide27:  Advantages of Integrating GIS with SCADA/AMR Real Time Electrical System Data. Feeder Wise interruption analysis giving the performance indicies like SAIFI and SAIDI. Automatic and Accurate availability of MW ,MVAR flows of 33Kv and 11Kv feeders and Bus Voltages. Correct Load Profile of 33 Kv and 11 Kv feeders is available. Tripping of 33Kv and 11 Kv feeders is reported within micro seconds. The Real time Data will be essential while implementing LOAD SHARING concept at Micro level. Proper Monitoring of Load Shedding Activity. Increases PRODUCTIVITY & CAPABILITY of the Company and many more………. Slide28:  Base System for Integration Customer information Slide30:  Thank you
