RESIDENT VISA o For a study period longer than 180 days o Resident visa holders must apply for an Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) and a re-entry permit in Taipei within 15 days from arrival unlimited entries GETTING A STUDENT VISA FOR TAIWAN VISITOR VISA o For a study period shorter than 180 days o Both single and multiple entry visas possible All international students must apply for a student visa in order to study in Taiwan Consult your nearest Taipei Representative Office or Taipei Economic and Cultural Office for up-to-date information on the visa application process and required documents

TAXI o Taipei has one of the world’s cleanest and most highly functional metro systems (MRT) in addition to a large bus network o Taxis and Uber are a safe and relatively cheap way to move around o Consider traffic congestion during rush hours o Taipei has built an extensive bike path network around the city o The bike share program, Youbike, has hundreds of stations with thousands of bikes o The starting cost for the use of a bike is 5 NTD for the first 30 minutes o Traffic culture in Taiwan, as well as in other parts of Asia, may be hectic compared to the traffic culture of your home country. TRANSPORTATION o USC campus is located along the MRT Wenhu Line (Dazhi Station)
