The main functions are: TTC and ULS Station Coverage Station Outages & Availability Maintenance Service Requests External Regional Integrity System ERIS Operational System:  External Regional Integrity System ERIS Operational System Based on architecture study done for China in support of Joint Undertaking. Assumed operational architecture (with direct regional uplinks): 15 Regional Sensor Stations, 2 Regional Uplink Stations 2 Regional Processing Centres, Networks & Interface for Scheduling of uplink to GCC Service Centre Interface Facility:  Service Centre Interface Facility Such interface would be implemented at the Service Product Facility in the Galileo Control Centre. It allows connection of a dedicated Galileo Service Centre, e.g. for implementation of commercial regional services to the Galileo Control Centre. Galileo Sensor Station Receivers:  Galileo Sensor Station Receivers The development of a Galileo Sensor Station Receivers for Open and Safety of Life Signals would mitigate the risks of the Programme in terms of schedule, availability and technical performance. Diversified design solutions for such receivers would improve the safety design. Variation of such receivers as timing receivers are required in the Precision Timing Facility and at Time Laboratories. Contribution in Satellite Laser Ranging:  Chinese involvement in the Ground Segment of Galileo China could build and operate a new Satellite Laser Ranging Facility, dedicated to Galileo, maybe on an existing site. Builds on China’s expertise and international cooperation with Laser Ranging stations in ChangChun, Shanghai, and other sites. Allows China’s active participation in the verification and calibration of the Galileo Ground Mission and Control Segment. Enables China’s involvement in the Scientific User Community of Galileo. Contribution in Satellite Laser Ranging Contribution in Satellite Laser Ranging:  Improve temporal and spatial coverage for laser ranging of Galileo and provides autonomous means. Support could start already with GSTB V2 S/C as from end 2005. costs for the Satellite Ranging Ground Station and site preparation and operations costs to be estimated China’s potential involvement in the Space Segment of Galileo: China could produce Satellite Laser Retro Reflectors for the Galileo satellites and provide the relevant Optical Ground Support Equipment (OGSE). As such China would provide an end-to end system. Contribution in Satellite Laser Ranging EEE PARTS PROCUREMENT:  EEE PARTS PROCUREMENT INTRODUCTION:  Today Europe procures from third countries a number of Electrical, Electronic and Electromechanical (EEE) parts China could provide alternative suppliers to those identified so far Improve current designs (performance, power consumption, reliability) Reduce parts procurement time and risks Procurement of Galileo EEE Parts in China INTRODUCTION Procurement of Galileo EEE Parts in China Procurement of Galileo EEE Parts in China:  PART TYPES PROMs, relays, fuses, phase lock loops, channel amps FPGAs, micropocessors, optocouplers, Power MOSFETs A/D - D/A converters, diodes, transistors, linear ICs, ...
